Sinatra Night At The Phoenix Symphony

So, I already love Sinatra music which drove me and two girlfriends to go to Sinatra Night @ The Phoenix Symphony.  I didn’t know exactly what to expect.  I thought a few old tunes I knew and some live music would be great.

All I can say is that I was SO impressed.  The music, conductor and singer were all meshing perfectly and it was an amazing show!  I am not old enough to have know a live performance from Sinatra.  But, it felt as though I may have got to experience what it may have been like.  Moving, truly musical and entertaining.  Funny with very few yaws.  They broke up the musical number with stories and jokes!  Not your typical night at the Symphony!

Now more than ever I am inspired to download some oldies but goodies to my iPod and listen to it over dinner…

The Phoenix Art Museum

Phoenix Art Museum by phxpma.Tonight I had the pleasure of going to the Phoenix Art Museum for the first time.  I am a native Arizonian and have never been there before.  I went to the Library and picked up a culture pass that would allow 4 of us to go for free.  But, little did I know Wednesday’s are Donation Only nights and the admission is free.  Located on Central and McDowell, NW Corner, It is very easy to park and find as well as access with the light rail.

I instantly loved the clean & open spaces of the museum.  I was each area of the museum was unique with great lighting and allowed the viewer to move into a new direction without getting bored or overwhelmed.   I was impressed with the unique work they had along with the more classical pieces.  I feel that they truly had a little something for everyone.

Some of the Art was very moving.  I personally like Impressionist more than modern art and found that they had many great and interesting pieces.  I feel like they had a good mixture of each of the major areas such as: Native American, Asian, Modern, European, American, Unique, 3 dimensional and kids.  I can say I am glad I did not take my 2 toddlers as the museum does have a lot of steps and levels and it is quite calm and quiet.

Overall a great place to visit and see.  I toured most of the exhibits within 2-3 hours.  I will definitely go back again!  To See more great pictures click here to see a slideshow!
